When Zachary Beaver Came to Town
| USA | 88 MINUTES | English
Based on the award-winning novel by Kimberly Willis Holt, When Zachary Beaver Came to Town is an endearing coming-of-age story about a 12-year-old boy's adventures over the course of one magical summer. Toby (Jonathan Lipnicki) lives in Granger, Texas, population 1299. It looks like he's going to have a typical small-town summer. Then his mother leaves the family to pursue a singing career, the cutest girl in town decides she likes him, and, to top it off, Toby and his buddy Cal stumble across an old tin trailer, and inside find Zachary Beaver, "the Fattest Boy in the World." A tough-talking, wise-cracking New Yorker, Zachary has been abandoned by his guardians, so Toby and Cal make it their business to make sure Zachary doesn't get scooped away by social services. Determined to help their new best friend, the boys get into all kinds of trouble. Along the way they learn what tragedy, friendship, adventure, loyalty, and faith mean to our lives.
