World Premiere
Swan's Island
| USA | 5 MINUTES | EnglishDocumentary
A dance between camera operator and subject, Swan's Island profiles artist Katy Martin, who covers herself with blue paint and then uses her whole body as a paintbrush. Throughout, filmmaker Bill Brand attempts to draw parallels between the physical gestures essential to painting and the camera movement essential to cinema, while highlighting the simultaneous harmony and separation between the person filming and the person being filmed.
