Glenn Kiser
Glenn Kiser is Director of the Dolby® Institute, an initiative to educate and inspire filmmakers and content creators about the creative use of sound and image in storytelling. Previously, Kiser ran Lucasfilm’s Skywalker Sound, where he oversaw sound work on films including Avatar, Wall-E, The Social Network, and the Star Wars prequels. Before joining Skywalker, Kiser was a post production executive at Propaganda Films, where he worked with directors including David Fincher, Spike Jonze, and Jane Campion. Kiser is also a filmmaker, and his latest short film, Sabbatical, won numerous awards and played over 40 film festivals around the globe.
Nick Ryan
Nick Ryan is an audio specialist, sound designer, composer and artist, recognised for his uniquely conceptual approach to creating audio experiences. His work involves applying emerging technologies to the making process, and introducing people to new ways of thinking about audio. He is invited to perform and speak about the future of sound at venues throughout the world such as MIT's Media Lab, The BBC, The BANFF Centre for the Arts and The Royal Institution. He's the recipient of a BAFTA for Technical Innovation and The PRS New Music Award and is an Honorary Doctor of Music at Plymouth University.
Limbert Fabian
Limbert Fabian’s award-winning directorial work exemplifies his passion for craft, collaboration and story. He received an Annie award and Emmy® for his work on Chipotle Mexican Grill’s The Scarecrow and his co direction on the animated short for Dolby Labs, Silent. He will be in competition for another daytime Emmy® award with his work for Gatorade, The Boy Who Learned to Fly. Limbert co founded FLIGHT SCHOOL, a story studio with their sights on new media and digital experiences.
Brandon Oldenburg
Brandon Oldenburg is an award-winning filmmaker. He won an Academy Award® for his directorial work on The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore. Other accolades include an Emmy® for his direction on The Scarecrow, a film and game experience for Chipotle, a 2017 Emmy® nominated short film for Radio Flyer, a Emmy® award-winning film collaboration with Dolby Laboratories. Oldenburg co-hosted TCM Movie Camp, on Turner Classic Movies. From 1995-2017 Brandon has co-founded three companies, Reel FX, Moonbot Studios, and most recently Flight School a story telling studio specializing in emerging technologies.
Angus McGilpin
Angus is currently responsible for developing the global content strategy and producing compelling creative content to demonstrate the power of Dolby’s breakthrough technologies. His team’s work has been recognized by a number of prestigious industry awards, including an Emmy® for the short film Silent in 2015. Previously, Angus was a professional snowboarder after graduating from the University of Colorado. In addition to his passion for film production, he loves surfing, travel, live music, and belly flop contests.
Beacon Theatre
The Rush system functions as a standby line that will form at the venue approximately one hour prior to scheduled start time. Admittance is based on availability and will begin roughly 10 minutes prior to program start time. Rush Tickets are the same price as advance tickets and are payable upon entry.
