Academy Award-winning production & costume designer of films such as The Great Gatsby, Romeo & Juliet and Moulin Rouge, Catherine Martin discusses her methods for creating some of the most instantly recognizable visuals on screen as well as how she has propelled this into businesses beyond the screen with Vogue’s International Editor-at-Large Hamish Bowles.

Catherine Martin is a film, stage and interior designer with 4 Oscars, 5 BAFTAs and a Tony Award among many others. CM’s profound ability to become deeply and authentically involved in the branding, brand message and the very DNA of the projects she’s involved in has allowed her to segue into our world via brands like Prada, Chanel, Tiffany & Co and Brooks Brothers. Constantly inspired by the people she meets and the places she visits, CM divides hertime between Paris, New York and Sydney and has two beautiful children, Lillian (11) and William (9).

As the International Editor-at-Large for Vogue, Hamish Bowles is recognized as one of the most respected authorities on the worlds of fashion and interior design. At the magazine since 1992, the author, collector, and curator also contributes to Vogue.com through his rubric “The Hamishsphere” and oversees all interior design features, profile stories, and fashion and contemporary culture coverage, as well as the history of fashion and style. In 2001, he was the creative consultant at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s internationally renowned and critically acclaimed Costume Institute exhibition “Jacqueline Kennedy: The White House Years—Selections from the John F. Kennedy Library Museum.”
