Kemar Bassaragh
Born on the island of Jamaica, Kemar Bassaragh immigrated to the United States at the age of 16 for his university studies. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism at St. John’s University and a master’s degree in communications at New York Institute of Technology. At 20, Bassaragh started his career in television at MTV Networks, spending three years there before moving on to BET Networks, “The Wendy Williams Show,” and Truly Original, working on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” “The Real Housewives of Potomac,” “Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding,” and “Kandi’s Wedding,” among others. After nine memorable years at Truly Original, he decided to take his career to another level as an independent contractor on NBCUniversal shows like “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” “The Real Housewives of Dallas,” and the launch of “Love Match Atlanta” for Bravo TV.
In 2022, Bassaragh officially joined the NBCUniversal family as Vice President, Current Production, overseeing several shows including “Below Deck Sailing Yacht,” “Below Deck Down Under,” “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” “Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard,” “Southern Hospitality,” and the Emmy-nominated “Vanderpump Rules.” When not working, Bassaragh can be found on the tennis courts or traveling, and he considers becoming a B2 Level speaker in French his biggest accomplishment.
