If you’re a betting man or woman, you’d be wise to hold a spot on the inevitable “Best TV Shows of the Summer” list for this one—it’ll be something special.

Entertainment Weekly reports that HBO has officially announced the premiere date for Show Me a Hero, the network’s latest collaboration with David Simon, the brains behind HBO’s critically adored series The Wire, Generation Kill, and Treme. Show Me a Hero, a six-part miniseries written by Simon and directed by Paul Haggis (Crash), will debut on August 16.

Based on Simon and Haggis’ names alone, Show Me a Hero is already a must-watch, but just check out the cast: Oscar Isaac, Catherine Keener, Alfred Molina, and Winona Ryder, among others. Sadly, though, don’t expect any Ex Machina-level dance moves from Isaac—the series’ subject matter won’t invite too much free-spirited gyrations. Set in the 1960s, Show Me a Hero zones in on a “New York town dealing with housing desegregation.”
