After more than 25 years in the film business together, producers Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler (responsible for Electric Slide, Young Bodies Heal Quickly and Mala, Mala at TFF 2014), in association with Stony Brook Manhattan, are putting together their shared wisdom to teach up-and-coming filmmakers how to make a independent feature based on a fully realized production plan.

Inspired by the success of their 20/20/20 program at Stony Brook Southampton Arts, the women of Killer Films have refined their class to include all facets of the Digital Filmmaking art form through hands-on instruction. With lectures from industry professionals and major indie artists combined with small group workshops, breakout sessions, and production boot camp, these Master Classes offer a truly inclusive project incubator for the next generation of filmmakers.

Over the course of two semesters, the aspiring writer/directors and producers will develop a project from short film idea to the initial pitch to the film production plan to the final product. What’s even more exciting for the NY indie film scene is that the students’ projects will all be shot in the greater Manhattan area.
