What to Do If Your Screening Says 'Rush'
See the word "Rush" next to that screening or event you're dying to attend? Don't lose hope! Read up on our Rush Tickets policy and you could get lucky.
There’s nothing more disappointing than seeing the words “sold out” next to a screening or event you were hoping to attend. Knowing this, Tribeca uses a Rush Tickets policy to open each film or event to as many movie fans as possible.
If you see that a film is on RUSH it means there are no more tickets available for purchase at this current time – crucial distinction here. Going to a theater and waiting on the RUSH line like being on stand-by for a flight but with much better odds.
For each screening or panel discussion that is offering Rush Tickets, a line will begin to form roughly 45 minutes before the event's start time. 15 minutes before the event begins, those at the beginning of the line will be allowed to purchase Rush Tickets as capacity allows. There is a limit of one rush ticket per person. (By the way, now's a good time to mention that if you buy an advance ticket to any TFF film, you need to present it at the theater 30 minutes before showtime.)
We can't guarantee that if you're in the line, you'll be able to get in. That being said, if you show up 45 minutes in advance, it’s definitely worth a shot.
RUSH Tickets are the same price as tickets purchased in advance at all venues: Tribeca Cinemas, Bow Tie Cinemas Chelsea, AMC Loews Village 7, SVA Theatre and the Tribeca BMCC (which will feature some red-carpet events!).
There are so many things you can do with 45 minutes, so waiting in line is never a chore. Spend some quality time with your friends, finish that book you’ve been reading, Tweet (#TFF2014, hint hint), or just enjoy NYC in the springtime. Bonne Chance!
Note: there is no rush line for opening night, unfortunately.
Remember: you can also particpate in Film for All Friday on April 25, sponsored by AT&T. On that special day, film screenings will be absolutely free for all attendees at TFF theaters! Click here for more details.
