We Asked the TFF Filmmakers: “What TV series should be revived for Netflix and Why?”

In honor of the new season of ‘Arrested Development,’ our TFF filmmakers share with us TV shows that they would like to see resurrected on Netflix.

We Asked the TFF Filmmakers: “What TV series should be revived for Netflix and Why?”

Are you enjoying the new adventures of the Bluth family? Thanks to Netflix, we now have hope that our favorite cancelled series may find life on the streaming service. With this possibility in mind, our TFF 2013 filmmakers opined on the television shows they’d like to see continued, including "Twin Peaks" and, of course, "Freaks and Geeks."

“In Treatment. The series producers had a great eye for both veteran and young talent with Gabriel Byrne, Dianne Wiest, and choices like Alison Pill and Mia Wasikowska.  If revived, the creative possibilities would continue to be endless.”

—Matthew Bonifacio, Fortune House

“Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, but only for one more season.”

—Daniel Patrick Carbone, Hide Your Smiling Faces

“Netflix should bring back Twin Peaks, but only if David Lynch was directing. Would he want to do it? Most likely not. Is it sacrilege? Probably. But if it happened, it would be as mind-blowingly amazing as the original series.  Twin Peaks was a work of art and should be revived for a new generation!”

—Dave Carroll, Bending Steel

“Dawson's Creek simply because I often find myself wondering how Pacey, Joey and the rest of the gang dealt with the recession.”

—Sean Dunne, Oxyana

“I would love to see Freaks and Geeks revived for Netflix. Though part of me is in love with that series for being a nearly perfect, stand alone portrait of a moment in time/youth and would worry about that being ruined by a revival, those characters were so brilliant that I would continue to follow them almost anywhere.”

—Meera Menon, Farah Goes Bang

“A ’where are they now?’ season of Freaks and Geeks would be fun to watch.  Is Haverchuck still in politics?  Did Lindsay and Daniel make a baby?  Is Sam the head of a Fortune 500 company or homeless? So many questions!”

—Ryan Scafuro, Bending Steel
