“Gutsiest Move I Ever Saw:” Top Gun Screens July 9th For Free
We feel the need, the need for speed. Join us at Tribeca Cinema this Tuesday night for the second installment in its Summer Cinema Series.
It’s summertime and what better way to keep cool than with a good old fashioned blockbuster? Strap on your flight suits and cruise into Tribeca Cinemas for a testosterone-fueled screening of Tony Scott’s Top Gun. If you’ve never seen this 80s classic before, you’re in for a treat.
Need a referesher on the plot? Ride into the danger zone. Top Gun follows ace fighter pilot Maverick (Tom Cruise) and his trusty co-pilot and best friend Goose (Anthony Edwards) as they navigate the Navy’s elite fighter weapons school. When Maverick begins to woo one of their instructors, Charlie (Kelly McGillis), things heat up both in the classroom and in the skies. Complete with one of the most memorable beach volleyball sequences ever captured on film, you don’t want to miss Top Gun on the big screen.
While the movie starts at 8:00PM, the doors of TC will open at 6:30PM for revelers to take advantage of the cash bar, themed menu items from The Varick Room and special giveaways. Just remember to RSVP to guarantee your seat, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
