Working Actor: Luke Evans
He's got the striking good looks of a Greek god, which is good because he keeps playing them. With his star on the rise, you should find out where exactly you may have seen him before.
You've Most Likely Seen Him In ...
...One of two action spectacles about the eternal struggle between man and the gods of ancient Greece. He first flexed his muscles -- literally -- as Apollo in Clash of the Titans, though he stepped into a more central role -- and stepped up in the Greek pantheon -- by playing Zeus in Tarsem's Immortals. So if you take one look at Evans and think "Greek god," well ... there are two more reasons why.
Unless You've Really Been Paying Attention, in Which Case You Remember Him From ...
... the small British indie Tamara Drewe, wherein he played a small-town lad who ended up romancing the title character, played by Gemma Arterton.
"Wait, So He's That Guy From ..."
... a handful of literary (or literary-adjacent, more accurately) reimaginings. The Luc Besson-produced The Three Musketeers placed Evans alongside Matthew Macfadyen and Ray Stevenson as the title trio, though it also placed him in the same film as his celebrity doppelganger Orlando Bloom. Evans would later play the lead inspector, partnering with Edgar Allen Poe to solve crimes, in The Raven.
You Can Also Go Back and Spot Him In ...
... Ridley Scott's version of Robin Hood, the Andy Serkis-starring Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, and the Jason Statham actioner Blitz.
If You're Into Fast Cars and Expansive Casts...
... He's in theaters this weekend playing the bad guy in Fast & Furious 6. That's a LOT of actors to fight for screen time with, but it might turn out to be Evans's highest-profile gig yet.
Where You Can Find Him in the Future ...
...He'll play Bard in the second and third Hobbit films, The Desolation of Smaug and There and Back Again, where he will once again be reunited with Orlando Bloom (however limitedly). And for his first lead role, he'll step into the goth paint of the lead role in The Crow.
