World Premiere: The New TribecaFilm.com

Just in time for the Festival flurry, we've given our website a facelift. We hope you'll find it brighter, cleaner, and easier to navigate. Please let us know what you think.

World Premiere: The New TribecaFilm.com

Building on the energy generated by Tribeca’s 10th annual Festival last year, we decided to give TribecaFilm.com a facelift just in time for the 2012 Festival. We’ve overhauled our design to make the site more aesthetically pleasing and easier to use. It’s now easier than ever to access the content you love and share it with your friends.

Below are some of the new upgrades to the site. It’s our pleasure to welcome our regular visitors and new Festival fans to an enhanced Tribeca experience!

The Big Picture

The centerpiece for Tribeca’s new look for 2012 is our image-prioritized newsfeed, which will allow you to view the top news items of the day the moment you click on our homepage. This feature is just in time for the Festival season, when there is so much information to communicate about the Festival films, Tribeca Film on demand, and all of the events associated with Tribeca. Inline video display will allow users to watch trailers, clips and original content directly on our homepage.

Content-Driven

Our new features and simpler interface give you more reasons to return to Tribeca every day. The main newsfeed is complete with an infinite scroll to simplify your browsing experience, and if you know what you’re looking for, our improved dynamic quick-search allows you to find it faster then ever. The right hand column on every page makes it easier to navigate, with popular content, film information, special offers and significant details (cast, director, running times, etc.) accessible at a single glance.

Sharing

Our new integrated comment system, powered by Livefyre, allows you to communicate your opinions and pose questions to your heart’s content, including the ability to cross-post your comments to your Facebook and Twitter feed. Pass along a great story with our new integrated social media tabs, pin a film, image or video to Pinterest, or + a story to appear on Google+ and share your love for film.

Film/Event Guide

For the start of our second decade, the Tribeca Film Guide has also received a facelift! The new Film Guide features a filtering system that allows you to easily search the Festival offerings by popular categories, such as Narratives, Documentaries, Shorts and more. Classic filters still allow you to search by genre, venue, and film section. Films designated with a play button allow you to  easily watch a trailer without leaving the page, and you can purchase tickets with one click (after April 10). For those who want to dig deeper, our detail page gives you all the information you need, including the synopsis, extra imagery, and information on the cast and crew.

We are also proud to announce our inaugural Event Guide, which will launch soon, allowing the Festival audiences access to information about Tribeca events outside of the Festival films. Special filters will allow visitors to sort by type, date, venue, and other important details (including our popular Tribeca Talks series).

The improvements that we have planned for TribecaFilm.com are by no means complete. We would love to get your feedback, so keep reading and commenting, and we will continue to get better and better!
