In today's YES, QUEEN! news, Jennifer Lawrence is finally taking Hollywood to task for that embarrassing American Hustle wage gap. Lawrence has penned an essay about the industry's appalling gender inequality for Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner's new Lenny newsletter. You might remember that during the Sony hacks scandal, it was revealed that Lawrence was paid significantly less than her male counterparts in David O. Russell's 2013 American Hustle. Although she received a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination that she came this close to winning over Lupita Nyong'o, Lawrence (along with fellow co-star and Hustle leading lady Amy Adams) received 2% less backend compensation than Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, and Jeremy Renner, who each received 9% to Lawrence's and Adams' 7%.

In her new op-ed, Lawrence, who reunites with Russell in this December's Joy, confesses, "I would be lying if I didn't say there was an element of wanting to be liked that influenced my decision to close the deal without a real fight. I didn't want to seem 'difficult' or 'spoiled.'

But Lawrence isn't apologizing for her actions nor is she excusing her producers' discriminatory decision-making. This is a frank, feminist, middle-fingers-in-the-air statement of declaration, as the most famous actress in the world later writes, "All I hear and see all day are men speaking their opinions, and I give mine in the same exact manner, and you would have thought I had said something offensive," before declaring, "I'm over trying to find the 'adorable' way to state my opinion and still be likable!"
