Announcing the Winners of Our 2014 #6SECFILMS Competition!
What do a gorilla, a polar vortex, a pepper shaker, a dancing tortilla, and a time-constrained portrait of addiction have in common? They're all winners of our second #6SECFILMS competition, and we couldn't be more excited to share them.
After six weeks and 536 total entries from 24 countries, we're proud to announce the winners of our 2014 #6SECFILMS competition. We knew that this year's entries would be a step up from last year - what with the Vine community having a full year to experiment with the medium - but even that knowledge didn't prepare us for the quality of these Vines, or for the awesome power of the collaborative and supportive (and growing) Vine community.
Jurors Jerome Jarre, Tiffany Shlain, Bethann Hardison, James Curleigh, and Julie Klausner selected four winners from a shortlist of 40 Vines curated by TFF programmers (headed up by TFF Programmer Genna Terranova) to name individual winners in the categories of “drama,” “comedy,” “animation” and “genre.” A fifth winner was selected by an online voting audience of nearly 6,000 in the first-ever #6SecFilms Audience Choice award, powered by the Pitch'd video contest platform.
The winning creators will each receive individual meetings with GrapeStory, the mobile-first marketing agency and production house founded by Gary and AJ Vaynerchuk of VaynerMedia, a social-first digital shop, and Jerome Jarre, #6SecFilms juror and a serial entrepreneur with more than 4.6 million passionate Vine followers.
And here they are, the winning Vines from this year's contest. Congratulations to the winners, and go here for the short list of finalists!
